About The Practitioner

Dannette Coston is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a nationally Board Certified Counselor. She has over 15 years of experience in working with children and families and currently provides counseling and therapeutic services in both the public schools sector and in private practice. She is the owner and sole practitioner of Therapy For Life, LLC in Garfield, NJ where she treats a variety of mental health concerns including specialty areas in stages of trauma, anxiety, depression and grief/loss through eclectic forms of therapy primarily Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Therapies.
Dannette Coston holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Long Island University. After a successful corporate career for 15 years she earned a Master’s degree(M.Ed.) in Professional Counseling along with Post Masters course work from William Paterson University in play therapy and clinical supervision. She is actively licensed in the state of New Jersey as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), a National Certified Counselor (NCC) through the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) and has specialty training as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) through the International Association of Trauma Professionals. She provides peer, task and direct supervision of graduate school interns.
Dannette Coston is an active member of the American Counseling Association(ACA), the American School Counselors Association (ASCA) and the International Association of Trauma Professionals.
Dannette Coston is a member of the Consortium of Mental Health and Educational Professionals of NJ (CMHEPC-NJ) where she serves on the Executive Board in the areas of Clinical Supervision and Mental Health Education.
She is an Associate Minister in Paterson, NJ
She loves to read, watch Netflix and lay in the sun.
